So far all my drawings of ravens have been done use google images as a reference. Sometimes I found it very difficult to develop character or style into my work, therefore I decided to look at some illustrations of ravens in order to give myself some ideas...
I like the white 'starry' effect in the black of the raven. I would like to maybe achieve something like this using texture and cut paper.
In terms of character this illustration particularly caught my eye. I like how the practitioner has reduced the raven down to a number of simple shapes, yet has managed to maintain the overall look of the bird.
