After looking at some references, I started drawing ravens just using some black indian ink. I moved away from using photographs and tried to draw from memory, or imagination. I am pleased with the result, I think they have a lot more character than any of my previous drawings, but still use the simple shape that I wanted - meaning that they will also be easy to translate into cut paper.
