Project direction >> Greeting from...

I have felt that I needed to explore loads of different ideas to find a good one, but whatever I come up with I still want to work on my 'urban animals' idea. The effect that humans have on the natural environment and animals is something that disgusts me...and also that I am very interested in and passionate learning about - so I think this idea is really perfect for me. What I would really like to communicate is the conflict created between humans and animals due to increasing urbanisation. I feel like there are two views to this - one being that animals are annoying pests that come into cities out of laziness in search for food, and the other that this has actually been caused by us as we've destroyed their natural habitats and we leave temptation for them - e.g. some people feed the animals or leave rubbish out ect. I do not really want to go really gory or horrible with the images - of animals dying or being shot as a method of 'pest' control. But again I do not want to show these situations in a positive light. I almost want the viewer to feel sympathy or appreciation for the beauty of these animals, and a sadness that we have reduced them to adapting to these new environments.
