Task - create an A5 12 page zine inspired by what you learnt about your author over the summer, including both image and text.
The quick turn around for this task I think has really kicked me into action. Today I began to brainstorm some ideas and finalise what's going to be on each page of my zine. I would like to capture the abstract and quirky nature of Murakami's life and personality - so have decided to split the pages into 2 sections : one half focusing on motifs in Murakami's novels / short stories, and the other looking at the things he likes and strange events in his life : then there will be a double page spread in the middle featuring the quote "Don't let appearances fool you, there's only one reality", which I think effectively captures the soul of Murakami's writing. In terms of media I am going to stick to collage as I know I can produce something I like within the given amount of time.
