I was really happy with the crit feedback - people seemed to like the simplicity of my images and the focus on composition. One of the most positive things is that even those who were not sure who the writer was still got the feeling that their work was abstract and confusing -- which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
Personally I am happy with the final outcome of my zine. I think its a good starting point for my work on Murakami and gives me a sense of the direction I need to go in for later projects. I would say, however, a part of why it was successful was because I did remain firmly in my comfort zone. This was because of the quick turn around of the brief, but I would like to develop skill in other media and develop my image-making beyond these simple collages. Another thing I think I need to consider, which was mentioned by Louis outside the crit, is that I haven't given much authorship to my work. This is something I find hard, and am not sure how to do or whether I have or not - I need to figure this out.
