Hats

I have a very large collection of hats so I decided that they offered some potential to create an interesting collection of characters. Clearly I was inspired by Jean Jullien's work with shoes, adding little tongues, eyes or lips to the hats.

What I like:
  • I now understand what Matt was reflecting on in the brief, about how the simple addition of eyes, a nose or mouth can bring us to see a face and start develop a sense character in our minds. I would like to start doing this more, perhaps with some different objects.
  • I think with some of them it has been really effective and has brought a real personality to these hats.
Problems:
  • The only thing that I am unsure of is how I would make a gif with these characters - what they would be doing and how they would move. This is something I need to reflect on more.
  • If I was to continue with these characters next week, I would like to work more on the crafting of the paper elements.
