3D craft and lens inspiration and plan

For this brief, I thought back to our first task of making a mask and photographing ourselves in it. This was something I really enjoyed doing, and so thought that I could maybe do something similar but running along this new theme of mutations/superpower. Whenever I think of having a superpower, or being able to mutate into something else, I would always like to be able to be a bird or fly. I think the attraction of this to me is the idea of having the freedom to go wherever you please, and also the thrill of flying (cos Im a bit of an adrenaline junky). I thought I would therefore transform myself into a bird using some form of mask.

As inspiration for this illustration I thought of Alexander Mcqueen's exhibition at the V&A 'Savage beauty' that I went to last summer. One of the main features of this exhibition was his 'Raven dress', from his horn of plenty collection, made of duck feathers and dyed black. I really like how this dress, and a lot of his work actually, were so unconventional in the way that they transformed these models. They became intimidating, almost unhuman foreign creatures, on the catwalk, contrasting with the delicate beauty or sexualisation of the female form, commonly appreciated in the fashion industry.
